OVH public mirror service
Scheduled Maintenance Report for Customer Service
Completed
Following a maintenance on one of our mirror servers [0] we're going to
speed up a pending migration towards a new mirror infrastructure that
is redundant, geographically distributed and will better satisfy our
needs in terms of stability and performance.

As the http protocol has many benefits in comparison to ftp, as for
example the relative simplicity to add caching, and the decreasing
relevance of ftp for mirrors[1][2], this new infrastructure will be
serving only http requests. https is planned and will be added in a
second step. Rsync access to most repositories will be limited to other
mirrors.

Some repositories have already been migrated, most notably Debian and
Ubuntu. There is no change in the URLs, as long as you have
http://.mirrors.ovh.net in your sources.list configuration
file. All distribution images provided by OVH are configured accordingly
since 2010.

If you have a manually updated distribution that dates back longer than that,
please make sure that you have a matching line in your sources.list, as for
example:

For Ubuntu:
deb http://ubuntu.mirrors.ovh.net/ubuntu/ YOUR_UBUNTU_VERSION_HERE main
For Debian:
deb http://debian.mirrors.ovh.net/debian/ YOUR_DEBIAN_VERSION_HERE main
